The paintings are an expression of happiness inspired by the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I strive to kindle a sense of adventure and bring the outdoors inside.

About me
I live in Lynden, WA with my husband and our two children. When I'm not painting, I love to hike, camp, snowshoe, ski and explore the local lakes, trails and beaches with my family. It is from these experiences that I draw inspiration for many of my paintings. I am in constant awe of the PNW and the beauty found here.  Want to stay in touch? Training and background
I am a formally trained artist with a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Northern Illinois University (1998), where I studied painting and illustration. For the past 16 years I have also worked as a graphic designer.

New work
I'm currently exploring the art of pyrography.  It's been so much fun experimenting with different woods, stains, dyes and finishes.  These pieces are a labor of love with lots of layers to bring out the scene and the natural beauty of the wood — I enjoy it so much!  I've got a bunch of new pieces in the works for my upcoming spring shows. I'm also playing with a softer palette and lighter touch with a new watercolor/ink series which will also be available this spring/summer.

Available Artwork
I will have work available this winter/spring at The Old Town Cafe in Bellingham, WA in February-March 2018, at the LC Artisan and Craft fair at Lynden Christian on April 21 and at the North Cascades Visitor's Center in Newhalem, WA.  Check out my Upcoming Shows link to see more.
